Patronal Festival Organ Recital
We are absolutely delighted to welcome Michael Stewart from New Zealand to perform for our Annual Patronal Festival Organ Recital.
The "Patronal Festival" is an important festival in the life of the Cathedral, celebrating our founding and naming on St Peter's Day. We are fortunate that the Music Foundation is able to support making our music, and our magnificent cathedral organ, a central part of this weekend celebration.
Michael Stewart will present a brilliant recital, featuring music associated with two of the great European Cathedrals - The St Thomas Church, Leipzig, where Bach was employed as Music Master; and St. Clothilde in Paris, where the great César Franck ruled the organ loft for thirty years.
We are extremely grateful to host Michael for this weekend, which will not only see him give this recital, but also work with our choir in workshop, conduct our Sunday Eucharist celebrating St Peter's Day, and teach our organ scholars; just as we were fortunate to host Rachel Mahon in 2023, Thomas Wilson in 2022, and Joseph Nolan in 2021.
We hope you will support us in bringing Michael to Adelaide, by attending this wonderful recital, that will really showcase the colour and majesty of our beloved Cathedral Organ.
