Cathedral alumni succeed overseas

In the past week, we have been thrilled to learn of the success of former Cathedral Choristers Edward Ananian-Cooper, and Alana Brook.

Edward was a treble chorister in the Cathedral Choir, and later a bass lay clerk, and occasional conductor of the choir, remembered particularly for his interest in Armenian music.

After a burgeoning career as a conductor in Europe, Edward has recently been appointed as Chorus Master of the fine chorus at the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, commencing later this year for their 2022/23 season.

Alana Brook was a chorister and organ scholar at St Peter’s,, before moving to the UK, where she was appointed as Assistant Organist at Lincoln Cathedral in 2019. Alana has recently been awarded her FRCO - (Fellowship of the Royal College of Organists), a distinguished award from a very difficult exam.

Congratulations to both Alana and Edward from the Cathedral community, and how great to see your continued musical successes.
