Does your child like to sing? Boys and girls aged 7-12 years are invited to experience an afternoon in the life of a Cathedral Chorister, and sing Evensong with the Cathedral Choir.
The St Peter’s Cathedral Chorister for a Day event takes place annually in August. This offers children between the ages of 8 and 11 the opportunity to find out what it’s like to be a Cathedral Chorister.

Children are taken on a tour and learn the secrets of the Cathedral. They rehearse with the trebles of the choir and watch a video about life in the Cathedral Choir. Each child is “buddied-up” and experiences first-hand what it is like to be a Cathedral chorister. The day ends with the visiting children robed in the distinctive red Choir robes, singing Evensong with the Cathedral Choir.

Parents are invited to afternoon tea before Evensong, and encouraged to stay for the service and see their child sing with the choir.

This year’s Chorister for a Day will be held from 2 to 5 pm on Saturday 22 August 2015.

If your child is interested in coming to the next Chorister for a Day please call the Cathedral Office on 8267 4551 to register your interest.
